KEN S. began his journey into the realms of guitar at the age of 7,(see pic1) after a short stint in the COLORADO MILITIA ORGANIZATION. The C. M. O. had planned to air drop young children using kites to make their descent into AREA 54 to infiltrate the military infrastructure. This was an ill fated plan. (see pic2)
Early 1970 Ken began his guitar education. X-mas of 1971, Ken and his brother formed the folk duo, THE PAJAMA MEN. (see pic3) A rift formed between the two brother in the fall of '73 when Ken decided to go in favor of electricity and Rock-n-Roll.(see pic4) Ken attained a modest noteriety during the mid-Seventies throughout the Four Corners area in such bands as...THE MUSHROOM HEADS....HAPPY DAZED...KEN & THE BARBIES. A tragic relationship with one of the Barbies sent Ken spiralling in and out of numerous rehabs and self-help groups.
After finding his greater power, Ken began woodshedding, honing his skills (see pic5), and growing his hair ( see pic6). The Eighties found Ken in Phoenix Arizona where he played in several all original bands such as DONT PANIC...BAD ALTITUDE...CRITICAL MASS.
In the 90's Ken had to flee to Mexico when his affiliation with the C. M. O. came to light. In Mexico City, he fronted the band, THE HO ENCHILADAS, which toured throughout the Tortilla Circuit of Central America. (see C.I.A. surveillance photos 7&8)
After massive amounts of antibiotics, senoritas, and tequila; Ken played a key role in the demise of the Noriega Regime.(see pic9 Ken..right..General Noriega..left ). The American gov't. grateful for his assistance, granted Ken immunity and he returned to the Phoenix music scene. As one of the members of THE HAIRFARMERS (see pic10), Ken was hired to play at a party for ex-DOKKEN guitarist George Lynch (see pic11). Several key industry exec's saw Ken and decided to promote him as an accoustic solo act, THE JAPANESE MARIACHI (see pic12).
A bad contract jaded Ken and in the winter on 2002...Ken shed all the pretense of the big city and went in search of the roots of Rock....the BLUES...And what better place than Memphis Tennessee. Ken needed a BLUES fast track so he headed down to the Crossroads to make a deal with Mr. Scratch. Scratch let loose the hellhounds on him and as a result, Ken lost a finger (see pic13) but gained his BLUES MOJO. He then headed down to Beale Street and found 2 WEEKS NOTIS, a band in need of a guitar player....and that's where you can find him now.
